BLANFORD - Patricia Magargal Hoey of Blandford, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 9.
Her loving, supportive family was with her throughout her illness and will miss her greatly. Patricia was born on April 30, 1933. She had one sister, Harriet Osgood, and one brother, Charles Raymond (Bob) Magargal (both deceased). She attended Russell H. Conwell Elementary School in Worthington, and graduated from Huntington High School in 1950. After high school, she was employed by General Electric in Pittsfield. During this time, Pat and her best friend, Nancy Prendergas, would often travel to New York City to shop and see Broadway shows. Patricia also worked in the business office at Westfield State College for many years. Pat was married to James Hoey for 44 years until his death in 2001. Pat and Jim enjoyed traveling together; they traveled to Ireland, Hawaii, and went on many pleasurable cruises.
Pat was a devoted mother to her 3 children and their families, David and his wife Myra Hoey of Huntington and their son Alexander, Laura Hoey of Huntington, and Jennifer Hoey and Neil Kibbe of Blandford and their daughter Maia. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many care givers and Blandford EMT's who helped care for their mother.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gateway Family Center in care of Kim Savery, 9 Russell Road, Huntington. A gathering in honor of Pat's life will be held Monday, February 17th from 4-6 PM at 4 Main Street Grill in Huntington. Ryder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
